Paneer Chili is the spicy savory dish in which fried cottage cheese is tossed in spiced sauce. It is one of the most famous starter dish as well as side dish available in all sorts of eateries. Paneer Chili is loved by everyone because it is full of flavors, delicious and quick-easy to make. In this post I’ll share the recipe of paneer chili which I always use.

Ingredients:
Paneer (cottage cheese) 250g
Onion Cubes ½ cup
Capsicum Cubes ½ cup
Finely Chopped Garlic 1 tbsp
Finely Chopped Ginger 1 tbsp
Chopper Green Chilies 1 tbsp
Plain Flour/ Maida 1 tbsp
Corn Flour 2 tsp
Red Chili Powder 1 tsp
Black Pepper Powder 2 tsp
Soya Sauce 1 tsp
Red Chili Sauce 1 tsp
Green Chili Sauce 1 tsp
Tomato Sauce 2 tbsp
Water as Required
Salt to Taste
Oil to fry
Chopper spring Onions ¼ cup
Directions:
Wash the paneer with cold water and cut into cubes of your desired size. Keep it aside.
Mix the plain flour, 1 tsp corn flour, 1 tsp of red chili powder, 1 tsp black pepper powder with salt in a bowl. Mix well till well incorporated. Add the paneer in the flour mixture and toss well. Coat the paneer cubes with flour and keep it aside.
Sauce:
a. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a frying pan on high heat and sauté chopper ginger, garlic, green chilies with chopper onions and capsicum. Stir fry the veggies for 2 minutes.
b. Add all the sauces into the sautéed veggies then mix well and add ¼ cup of water and mix well. Let the sauce boil. Keep the sauce aside.
- Frying the Paneer: Heat ¼ cup of oil in a frying pan and shallow fry the flour coated paneer till golden brown. Keep the fried paneer on the kitchen towel to soak excess oil.
- Once the paneer is fried well, heat the prepared sauce on low heat. Add corn flour slurry (mixture of 1 tsp of corn flour and 2 tbsp of cold water) to the sauce mix well till the sauce thickens.
- Now add the fried paneer in the sauce and mix till well incorporated. Sprinkle remaining black pepper powder and mix well. Garnish with chopped spring onion and serve hot as starter dish or as a side dish.
