POTATO PATTIE BURGERS

Burger is one of the most famous fast food all around the world and there are different types of variants of burger. Be it vegetarian or non-vegetarian, burgers are loved by people of all ages. In this blog I will be sharing the recipe of vegetarian burger with Potato Patties which is easy to make and tastes really tasty and yummy.

Ingredients

  • Burger Buns: 4

  • Boiled Potatoes: 6-8 medium

  • Boiled Peas: 1/4 Cup

  • Flattened Rice/Poha: 1/4 Cup

  • Cumin Powder: 1 Tsp

  • Coriander Powder: 1 Tsp

  • Red Chilli Powder: 1/2 Tsp

  • Black Pepper Powder: 1 Tsp

  • Plain Flour/Maida: 1/4 Cup

  • Crushed Cornflakes: 1/4 Cup

  • Salt to Taste

  • Oil to fry

  • Water as required

  • Plain Mayonnaise: 1/2 Cup

  • Ketchup: 1/4 Cup

  • Onion Julliens: 1/2 Cup

  • Cucumber Julliens: 1/2 Cup

  • Cheese Slices: 04

Directions

  • Soak the flattened rice/ poha in cold water for five minutes. Then drain off the excess water and keep it aside. Meanwhile, grate the boiled potatoes in a big bowl, add the boiled peas and all the dry spices i.e. cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, black pepper powder, and season with salt. Then add the soaked poha/ flattened rice and mash till well incorporated. Keep this potato mixture in the fridge for 15-20 minutes.
  • Take out the potato mix from the fridge and divide the mixture into 4 equal portion. Roll it into a ball and flatten the balls by pressing between your palms to get a medium sized pattie. Again keep the potaoes pattie in the fridge for 15 minutes.
  • Now let’s coat the patties to get crispy texture. In a bowl, add the plain flour/ maida, season with salt and add some water to get a thick batter. In a plate spread the crushed cornflakes. Now take out the patties from the fridge and first coat it with a flour batter and then roll it on the crushed cornflakes or bread crumbs. Keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a deep pot/ kadhai to deep fry the potatoes patties. Keep the heat to medium low flame and fry the patties till the outer crust becomes golden brown. Simultaneously, slice the burger into two halves and grill the buns on a heated pan till golden brown. Keep the buns aside. Also keep the patties aside.
  • Assembling the Burger: In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and ketchup together till well incorporated. Take the grilled buns, spread the mayonnaise-ketchup mixture on both the sides, place the pattie over it, then the cheese slice, onions and cucumbers. Then place the other slice of the bun over it and there you go. Potato Patties Burger is ready. Serve the burger with French Fries and cold drink of your choice.

Tips: You can use veggies of your choice like lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes etc.
