CHOCO CHIPS BANANA BREAD

One day I was watching TLC Channel and there I heard for the first time about Banana Bread. Then I was in High School, I googled about the recipe and tried it out but it turned out to be a disaster. Until last month when I tried out the recipe once again for my birthday and that too out of scratch. I used the ingredients which I had at home. This was because of the lockdown I couldn’t go out for grocery shopping. In this blog I’ll be sharing the recipe of Choco Chips Banana Bread.

Preparation Time: 30 Minutes

Baking Time: 1 Hour

Serves: 10-12 Slices

Course: Dessert

Cuisine: United States

Ingredients:

Ripe Bananas                     3-4 Large

Plain Flour                     2 cups

Castor Sugar                     1/2 cup

Melted Butter                     1/2 cup

Milk                         1/4 cup

Eggs                         2 Large

Baking Soda                     1 tsp

Baking Powder                 1 tsp

Vanilla Essence                 1 tsp

Salt                         1/2 tsp

Chocolate Chips                 1/2 cup

Chopped Toasted Walnuts             1/2 cup

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas using a fork. Make sure the bananas are fully mashed till no large lumps are visible. Keep it aside.
  2. Take another bowl and sift all the dry ingredients into it except the sugar. Sift twice or thrice to remove any lumps. Keep it aside.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix all the wet ingredients now. Start with melted butter, then add sugar and mix till sugar melts completely. Now add the vanilla essence and eggs ,then mix.
  4. Now to the wet mixture, add the dry ingredients and fold in to make a sticky batter. The batter musn’t be too runny rather it should be of a sticky consistency. Do not over mix the batter only just fold the batter. If the batter is too dry, add another 1/4 cup of milk to it.
  5. You can pop the batter into the oven if you want a plain banana bread. But I like some crunch that’s why I added some chocolate chips and toasted chopped walnuts. If you don’t have chocolate chips, add some chopped chocolate chunks. Also you can choose any nut of your choice. Gently fold in some of the choco chips and walnuts and reserve some to sprinkle over the top.
  6. Line the loaf tin or rectangular cake tin with butter paper and brush the bottom and sides with oil. Put the batter into the lined tin and smooth the top of it. Then sprinkle the remaining Choco chips and chopped walnut on the top.
  7. Bake the Banana Bread in the preheated oven for 1 hour or till the toothpick comes out clean. Bake the banana bread at 180°C. After the Banana Bread is fully baked, leave it in the tin to cool completely. After it cools, remove it from the pan, cut it into slices and serve.
