YUMMY NUTTY CHOCOLATES

There are times when we get cravings for sweets. I get a lot of it because I’ve got sweet tooth. For such times why not get prepared in advance. In this blog I’m sharing an instant recipe to make chocolates at home. I make chocolates using this recipe keep it in the fridge and feed on them whenever I get sweet cravings. These handmade chocolates are also ideal for gifting on various occasions.

Preparation Time: 20-30 minutes

Setting Time: 15 minutes for one batch of chocolates

Serves: 45-50 small chocolates

Course: Dessert

Ingredients:

Dark Compound Chocolate                               200g

Milk Compound Chocolate                               200g

White Chocolate                                                 100g

Chopped Dry Fruits of your choice                  ½ cup

Plastic/ silicon chocolate moulds

Water 1 cup

Direction:

  1. Chop the dark chocolate compound and milk chocolate compound into small chunks or shards. Keep the chopped chocolates in a large bowl.
  2. Meanwhile heat one cup of water in a saucepan and let it boil. Chocolates will be melted using double boiler method. (Double boiler method is a way in which water is heated in a pan over which another bowl is kept. Steam of the water helps ingredients in the bowl above get heated and melt.)
  3. Once the water in the pan starts boiling keep the bowl with chopped chocolates over the pan. Remember the water should not touch the bottom of the pan, if it does take out little water.
  4. While the bowl is over the saucepan stir the chocolates and mix well. Once the chocolate melts completely add the chopped dry fruits of your choice. I usually add cashew nuts, almonds and raisins. Mix the chocolate mixture well.
  5. Once the chocolate is melted completely remove the bowl from the saucepan and wipe the bottom of the bowl. Remember water should not get into the chocolate mixture.
  6. Meanwhile melt the white chocolate too using the double boiler separately. White chocolate is for decorative purpose. One can skip this step. (Optional Step)
  7. Take the chocolate mould and using a spoon pour melted white chocolate to make designs. Let it set in the fridge for five minutes. (Optional Step)
  8. After five minutes take the mould out and pour the chocolate mix with a spoon in the mould. Tap the mould on a flat surface; this will burst the air bubbles.
  9. Put the mould in the freezer for fifteen minutes.
  10. After 15 mintues take out the mould and tap on a flat surface, chocolates will easily come out.
  11. Pop it into the freezer to store or devour chocolates whenever you crave for it.
